According to article 2 par. 1 of Greek Law 2121 / 1993 on copyright and related rights, the original photographs is object of copyright and the photographer has all rights provided by Law 2121 /1993.

Article 38 of Law 2121 /1993 contains a specific provision concerning the photographer's rights. Paragraph 4 introduces a very important provision providing that each act of publication of a photograph shall be accompanied by a mentioning of the photographer's name. The provision applies to any photographer whatsoever (article 72 par. 5 of Law 2121 /1993).

Moreover, articles 65 and 66 of Law 2121 /1993 contain provisions concerning civil and criminal sanctions against all acts which constitute copyright infringement.
